Welcome to FunRunDad

Some people call me addicted to running. I would probably call myself that. It’s true, I like to run, to run a lot, and I tend to annoy people talking about running.
The solution: stop talking, start writing!

I also started some while ago taking notes, putting down my thoughts on what I considered important for a healthy, fit, sportive lifestyle. So why not sharing some of this (very basic and simple) advice.

At times, I also had the feeling that my BlaBla on running here and running there not only bored some of the uninterested, but instead motivated others who happily listened to my encounters (to which, by now, I can count two sub-3h marathons, a 65km ultra-trail, and a 100km walk – beside many other FunRuns). Therefore, my FunRuns category includes several adventure-‘reviews’ for those interested.

Oh, and I am a father since June 2017. Keeping up with training & running is a little more challenging when parenting – often doing both in parallel. I assumed some of my ‘efficiency tricks’ may inspire others to try them out and move a little more – one hears too often that job and children are the reason that any physical activity is rendered inert. Whereas the opposite should be the case – both job and children should serve as motivation for more activity (destress, meditate, sort your thoughts, stay fit, catch the ball, be a role model and so on)!
Of course, the goal should not be to run 100km week in, week out; this wears off both yourself and your partner (and your kids) if you’re also working a full time job. But some kilometres here and there, e.g., in the morning before the world gets up, between dropping kids at daycare and office, during lunch time or a fast run home after work (or a running stroller) are worth gold….
